About the visual art

Imaged by Maxar's WorldView-2 satellite, the summit area of Mount Hoge (2790 m) encapsulates the mountainous terrain and the effects of glaciation up close in great spatial detail. The fresh moraine and location of the retreating glacier just to the north of the peak are a clear reminder of the rapidly changing climate conditions in these northern latitudes. First Nations have lived in the region for many generations. They jointly manage the national park and reserve with Parks Canada. Mount Hoge is within sight of the Alaska Highway, which skirts the northeastern portion of the park.
