Artemis II crewmembers prepare with water survival training

Christina gets out of the Orion capsule through a hatch.

NASA astronaut Christina Koch and her Artemis II crewmembers take part in water survival training using a mock-up of the Orion spacecraft at NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory.

The Orion spacecraft will splash down in the Pacific Ocean when it returns to Earth, and the crew will be met by a recovery vehicle. This training prepares the astronauts to exit the vehicle in a variety of different scenarios. (Credit: NASA/James Blair)
