Artemis II crew water survival training

The Orion capsule in a pool, with people in and around it.

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his Artemis II crewmates practise their water survival skills using a mock-up of the Orion spacecraft at NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory.

The Orion spacecraft will splash down in the Pacific Ocean when it returns to Earth, and the crew will be met by a recovery vehicle. This training prepares the astronauts to exit the vehicle in a variety of different scenarios.  (Credit: NASA/James Blair)
