Artemis II crew training for lunar communication

The Artemis II mission crew, including CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen, are getting trained on an Orion simulator at NASA’s Johnson Space Center for their upcoming lunar mission. 

Hansen, alongside Artemis II pilot Victor Glover, work with an instructor to learn more about the S-Band antenna, part of the Unified S-Band System that was used as far as the Apollo missions. This is one of the systems that will allow the Artemis II crew to communicate with Earth throughout their mission.  (Credit: NASA/James Blair)
