Mock-up of Orion’s toilet

A modified toilet in a small yellow room.

CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his Artemis II crewmates will use Orion’s toilet, which is called the Universal Waste Management System. This advanced system will separate urine for release into space and store feces for disposal upon their return. Like for any other system of the spacecraft, astronauts need to train to learn how to use the space toilet. They use this mock-up at NASA’s Johnson Space Center to do so.
