A message to His Majesty King Charles III from Jeremy Hansen

On the eve of the Artemis II launch, His Majesty King Charles III, King of Canada, sent his best wishes to Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Col. Hansen, who became the first Canadian to fly around the Moon, was greatly honoured and sent his regards and thanks to His Majesty as he was making his way home to Earth.  (Credits: Canadian Space Agency, NASA)

I just want to reach out with a message of gratitude. I really appreciated receiving your letter before launch. I was able to print out a copy of it in the crew quarantine facility and bring it with me on this journey around the Moon. As you might see, that's planet Earth. We're on our way home. So that's everybody that is near and dear.

I shared your letter with the crew, and it all resonated with all of us, deeply. Specifically, your thoughts around scientific pursuit, stewardship, and reverence for all that is sacred. I think that is a very meaningful way to think about and shape how we move forward with space exploration and the pursuits of excellence for humanity.
