Artemis II rocket stacking at NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building

In an assembly building, a rocket segment stands on a platform, and the core stage lies horizontally.

The left aft assembly, or bottom portion of the solid rocket boosters for the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, moves into the Vehicle Assembly Building with the core stage at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The aft assembly will be lifted atop the mobile launcher, followed by the right aft assembly and remaining rocket segments.  (Credit: NASA/Ben Smegelsky)
