And the winner of the Aqualunar Challenge is….
Water is not only essential to sustain life but is also a critical resource for space exploration. To support the production of food, oxygen, and rocket fuel, we must find ways to remove potential contaminants in water found on the Moon.
The Aqualunar Challenge seeks to develop novel water purification technologies to be used on the lunar surface.
After three rounds of competition, Canadian Strategic Missions Corporation has won with their design Luna Pure - a sustainable system to purify lunar water. (Credit: Canadian Space Agency)

Jeremy:
Hi, I’m Canadian Space Agency astronaut and Artemis II crew member Col. Jeremy Hansen.
The Artemis campaign’s objective is to return humans to the Moon: this time to stay. Living and working on the lunar surface is a very ambitious goal that will require bold ideas and new technologies.
The Aqualunar Challenge was created to develop inventive ways to purify water on the Moon, a critical resource for sustaining life, as well as producing fuel and food.
The grand prize winner of the Challenge is:
Canadian Strategic Missions Corporation.
Their concept, LunaPure, is designed to provide a low maintenance, sustainable water purification process that takes into consideration the challenging conditions of working on the Moon.
Congratulations to CSMC on your innovative spirit and vision.
