Hello, Team Canada!

I’m Canadian Space Agency astronaut Colonel Jeremy Hansen. 

After years of sacrifice, determination and resilience, you will be competing in the coming days at the highest level in your sport.

I hope you are proud of your incredible achievements. 

Like you, I’ve been preparing most of my life for my own kind of Olympics – going to space. Soon, after years of hard work, I will get to live out my dream as I fly around the Moon aboard the Artemis II mission. 

Canada will become only the second country ever to send an astronaut around the Moon, and I have the privilege of representing our country on this historic mission. 

And like you, I will be wearing Canada’s flag with pride and honour. 

I wish you all the best of luck and a great 2026 Winter Olympics journey!
