Jeremy Hansen and “Rise”

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen holds “Rise,” the zero g indicator (ZGI) for the Artemis II mission. 

The ZGI has become a space flight tradition that visually indicates when the crew begins to experience microgravity after launch. The plush was designed by California second-grader Lucas Ye, who was inspired by the famous Apollo 8 photograph “Earthrise.” (Credit: NASA/Kim Shiflett)
