Moon rocks on Earth

Caroline-Emmanuelle Morisset, Senior Scientist, Lunar and Planetary Science at the CSA, showed the participants of La cabane à culture 2025 samples of anorthosite and basalt, which are also found on the Moon.

Over 39,000 young people in grades 3 and 4 participated in a simulated rover mission workshop in which young people searched for water ice on the Moon and learned about what geologists do. It was a collaboration with Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec for their La cabane à culture initiative. A total of eight sessions took place in 2024 and 2025.
