ESA Procurement Training at the Canadian Space Agency

- Who should register: Procurement specialists and anyone involved in procurement activities within Canada’s space industry who are interested in pursuing ESA tender opportunities, particularly those with little or no experience writing ESA proposals.
- Note: Given the limited capacity of the event, priority will be given to SMEs on a first-come, first-served basis.

Summary
The European Space Agency (ESA) will deliver an in-person training session on the ESA procurement process at the CSA.
Detailed description
The course will take place at the CSA Headquarters in Saint-Hubert and will be delivered in English by members of ESA’s Directorate of Industry, Procurement & Legal Services and the Directorate of Technology. Expected topics are:
- How to do Business with ESA;
- The ESA Procurement Process;
- Intellectual Property Rights;
- ESA's General Clauses and Conditions;
- Participation in ESA programmes Canada has subscribed to;
- How to write successful proposals to ESA; etc.
This session will also include practical exercise. Participants will be divided into teams and asked to prepare a mock proposal, which will be evaluated by the ESA team.
The session will be limited to 48 participants (a waiting list will be created), with one representative per organization.

Transport
By car
- When arriving at the CSA site, use the visitor entry lane (left lane).
- At the gatehouse, the security officer will ask for the names of the passengers and may inspect your vehicle.
- Free parking is available. When the parking lots are full, a security officer will direct you to park your vehicle. Carpooling is recommended during large events.
By bus or taxi
- Use bus line 428 and get off at the Airport Zone/Canadian Space Agency. Check the RTL website for the full schedule.
- Pedestrians can enter the site through the gate to the left of the gatehouse, where a security officer will take your name.
- By taxi, use the visitor's lane. Taxis may drop passengers off at the entrance to the main rotunda.
By plane
- A new airport is now operational just a short distance from CSA headquarters.
- The Montréal Metropolitan Airport, located at 6400, Route de l’Aéroport in Saint-Hubert, offers direct and connecting flights to and from several Canadian cities.
Important: There is often heavy traffic around the John H. Chapman Space Centre, particularly from 7:00 to 9:00 am and from 3:00 to 5:30 pm. Please plan accordingly. Parking at the CSA is free but limited. Please consider car-pooling or taxi.
