David Saint-Jacques: Hello! David Saint-Jacques, Canadian Space Agency astronaut.

Right now I am on the International Space Station, in orbit at 400 kilometres above the Earth!

I want to congratulate you on your excellent work you’ve done for the science fair.I’m sure you’ve put a lot of time and energy into developing your projects.

I hope that during the science fair, you learn a lot while having fun, you show your creative side and your perseverance, and even though it’s a competition, that you help each other.

You are practising skills that you’ll use throughout your lives.

They’ll enable you to tackle many challenges, whatever career path you choose… maybe even become astronauts!

I’m sure you’re learning that science is not just abstract concepts that we find in textbooks – science can be a lot of fun!

Take it from me – science and adventure really do go hand in hand!

So stay curious, keep on learning new things and don’t forget: dare to explore!
