Handshake in space, mission STS-100

2001-04-28 - Today is a milestone in Canadian space history with the first ever robot-to-robot transfer in space. From the aft flight deck of the Space Shuttle Endeavour, Canadian Space Agency Astronaut and STS-100 mission specialist Chris Hadfield executed the exchange. The palette that was the launch cradle of the newly delivered robotic arm for the International Space Station was lifted by Canadarm2 and handed over to the the Space Shuttle Endeavour's robotic arm, Canadarm.
