First Photo taken by the Ultraviolet Auroral Imager

This composite image features the Northern Lights oval with a magnetic space storm over northern Canada. The inset was photographed on March 1, 1997 at 23:27 EST by the Canadian Space Agency's Ultraviolet Auroral Imager (UVAI) on Russia's Interball-2 satellite and has been colour coded to display the intensity of the aurora.
