NASA Discovery Announcement of Opportunity

Objectives

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) intends to release an Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for Discovery Program missions in early 2019.

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) encourages Canadian industrial and academic teams to join US-led teams in response to this AO. The CSA’s support will be limited to the provision of a synthetic aperture radar instrument to be used for mapping water ice in the Martian subsurface and associated science investigations.

NASA will conduct the technical peer review of applications and make the final selections. Canadian teams selected through the AO process will be invited to submit proposals for financial support from the Canadian Space Agency.
