The Canadian lunar rover: searching for new soil

When the poster was being developed, the Canadian lunar rover project was still in the early stages. There was no detailed plan of the rover, so this representation was purposely less realistic and more creative. A Cubist style was chosen to depict a graphical construction of geometric forms where the rover blends in with a very stylized Moon texture. Vibrant colours intentionally contrast with the very serious and rational technical work involved in designing and building a rover. The big star at the top represents the talent and passion of the designers, and Mars reflects humankind’s desire to push the boundaries of space exploration. (Credit: Canadian Space Agency)
