The lunar surface captured by Orion’s optical navigation camera – Artemis I

2022-11-21 – On the sixth day of the Artemis I mission, Orion’s optical navigation camera took this black-and-white image of the craters of the Moon. 

The optical navigation camera is used to take images of Earth and the Moon at different phases and distances to help orient the spacecraft on future missions.  (Credit: NASA)
