First RCM satellite passes TVAC test with flying colours!

2017-03-27 - After four weeks sealed inside the thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) at the David Florida Laboratory, the first RCM satellite is removed from the chamber. It will return to Montreal, where mission preparations will continue.

Successful TVAC testing is an important milestone in a series of critical tests that each RCM satellite will undergo in preparation for the intense experience of a rocket launch and the extreme space environment. In the case of TVAC testing, the team is ensuring that each satellite will survive and operate in the wide temperature variations and vacuum environment of space. (Credit: Canadian Space Agency)
