The infographic features a map of Canada with the latest data, as of December 1, 2016, on the candidates who have been selected for the next step of the selection process in the Canadian Space Agency's astronaut recruitment campaign. The candidates have been invited to go through the preliminary medical tests conducted by the Canadian Forces Health Services Group.

On each province and territory, there is a circle containing the number of candidates who qualified for the next step of the selection process, and the percentage of the total number of candidates. Here are the statistics in detail.

  • Yukon: no candidate: 0%
  • Northwest Territories: 1 person; 1%
  • Nunavut: no candidate; 0%
  • British Columbia: 6 people; 6%
  • Alberta: 8 people; 8%
  • Saskatchewan: no candidate; 0%
  • Manitoba: 2 people; 2%
  • Ontario: 35 people; 35%
  • Quebec: 13 people; 13%
  • New Brunswick: no candidate; 0%
  • Nova Scotia: 3 people; 3%
  • Prince Edward Island: no candidate; 0%
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: 2 people; 2%

30 candidates from outside of Canada are still in the running, which is 30% of the total number of 100.

Of the candidates, 65% are men and 35% are women.
