David Saint-Jacques on a Glaciology expedition in the Kaskawulsh Glacier, Yukon

2015-07-29 - The crew always makes sure that they are safely attached when they explore the Glacier. They have to be very cautious of their environment, like in this case, when jumping over a crevasse.

From July 25 to August 2, 2015, Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut David Saint-Jacques took part in a training expedition in the Kaskawulsh Glacier in Yukon to learn methods and techniques for conducting geological fieldwork that could be applied to future missions to Mars or other planets.
