David Florida Laboratory (DFL)

The testing of systems, such as Canadarm, or of very large satellites, such as RADARSAT, requires special facilities and equipment. The David Florida Laboratory is one of the few facilities in the world that can simulate the vibration of a launch and perform space environmental tests on large satellites or their subsystems and components. An integral part of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the DFL site is next to the Communications Research Centre, west of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
