September 22, 2010 - The Canadian Space Agency has awarded a contract valued at $6 million (CAD) to MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) to develop a terrestrial prototype of a science rover for Mars exploration.

Launched on September 20, 2010 The AuroraMAX online observatory began streaming Canada's northern lights live over the Internet providing to the world-wide web a new window on the Universe.

In early September 2010, the Canadian Space Agency has delivered a test unit of its contribution to the James Webb Space Telescope, successor of the Hubble Space Telescope, to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

As a part of their basic training program, the NASA astronaut candidates are participating in familiarization visits of partner space agencies. On Friday, September 10, Canadian astronaut candidates David Saint-Jacques and Jeremy Hansen and their colleagues were at the John H. Chapman Space Centre, in Saint-Hubert, Quebec.
