September 27 - October 1, 2010
John H. Chapman Space Centre in Saint-Hubert, Quebec
The main objective of the Workshop is to inform all potential users of the RADARSAT-2 Government Allocation about the framework of this data allocation. This important event also offers an exclusive opportunity to better understand the capabilities of RADARSAT-2, to learn about application developments and have access to results from more than 190 sponsored research projects via the SOAR program.
This Workshop is an occasion to network with SAR users, partners, service providers and researchers interested in the features and benefits of the RADARSAT-2, including polarimetry and interferometry.

61st International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Congress
September 27 - October 1, 2010
Prague, Czech Republic
The Canadian Space Agency participates to the 61st International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Congress in Prague, Czech Republic.
The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) is an international non-governmental and non-profit organisation, founded in 1951.
The Federation encourages the advancement of knowledge about space and the development and application of space assets for the benefit of humanity. It plays an important role in disseminating information, and in providing a significant worldwide network of experts in the development and utilisation of space.
Canada's Student Participation Program
Canada also supports the participation of students in the 61st International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Congress.
Canada's Student Participation Program at the International Astronautical Congress is an annual initiative that began in 2004.
The Congress is an excellent meeting point for all space experts, providing students the opportunity to create many valuable contacts with professionals and like-minded students, both from within Canada and from the entire world.
Throughout the Congress, students have the chance to interact with professionals, learn from their expertise and listen to their views on the future of space. Students are incorporated into the congress, bringing an appreciated element of youthful insight and energy into workshop and plenary sessions.

The Conquest of Space in Images
The space age began with the launch of Sputnik. Since then, man has walked on the Moon, robots have stirred the soil on Mars, and probes have scanned the farthest reaches of the Universe. Russia, America, Europe, and Canada embarked on an amazing space adventure. The milestone events on this journey are eloquently presented in stunning photographs in this exhibit, adapted from an original created by France's space agency, the Centre national d'études spatiales.

IGARSS Hawaii 2010 Conference
July 25-30, 2010
The IEEE International Geoscience & Remote Sensing Symposium 2010, in Hawaii, USA, represents a milestone in the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society's strategic objective to broaden international participation. Canadian Space Agency delegates attended the event and the exhibition to promote Canada's capabilities in Earth Observation, namely RADARSAT-2 applications.
Over 20 exhibitors—including the Canadian Space Agency-- from various government organizations and private sector companies were on hand. Some 635 delegates visited the CSA kiosk. The CSA representatives promoted the Canadian Space Agency Earth Observation products including RADARSAT-2 and the upcoming RADARSAT Constellation—a follow-up to RADARSAT-2. The RADARSAT Constellation containing three identical satellites will provide complete global coverage and offers daily revisits of Canada’s vast territory and coastal approaches of all three Oceans: the Atlantic, the Arctic and the Pacific.

Tremblant Beneath the Stars Celebrates its 15th Year!
August 13-14 , 2010
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA), Station Mont-Tremblant and the Laval and Boisbriand Amateur astronomy clubs once again joined forces to organize an exciting program for the 15th edition of Tremblant Beneath the Stars on August 13 and 14, 2010.
In spite of overnight clouds on Saturday, some 5,500 people visited the CSA tent in the pedestrian village and rode to the top of the mountain over the week-end to meet the CSA team.
Novice stargazers participated in a Celestial Scavenger Hunt, counted shooting stars at the summit of Mont-Tremblant, observed the sky through the telescopes of amateur astronomers, observed the Sun with telescopes equipped with special filters, hiked through the mountain to discover constellations, saw a photo exhibition on the Hubble Space Telescope on its 20th anniversary, as well as indoor and outdoor presentations on the legacy of the Space Shuttle, on MOST, the Humble Canadian Space Telescope, the solar system and the constellations.
Tremblant beneath the stars is organized by the Clubs des Astronomes Amateurs de Laval et de Boisbriand (Laval and Boisbriand Amateur Astronomy Clubs), Station Mont-Tremblant (Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort) and the Canadian Space Agency.
