A historic walk on the Moon

Forty years ago, Neil Armstrong and "Buzz" Aldrin, set foot on the surface of the Moon. The two astronauts spent 21 hours on the lunar surface and returned 46 pounds of lunar rocks. The Apollo 11 crew, that also included Michael Collins, inspired an entire generation of explorers.

Chris Hadfield, Julie Payette and Bob Thirsk recall the early days of space exploration and share the impact the Apollo missions had on their careers. Chris Hadfield and Julie Payette joined the Canadian Space Agency astronaut corps in 1992, and Bob Thirsk in 1983.
