ISS Assembly
- UF-2 is the 14th assembly mission of the International Space Station
Mission Objectives
- Deliver and install the Mobile Base System on the Mobile Transporter.
- Replace a wrist roll joint on Canadarm2.
- Outfit the Destiny Lab Module with Raffaello Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) contents (supplies and equipment) and return trash from the ISS to Earth.
- Three confirmed spacewalks (EVAs: Extravehicular Activities) by astronauts Franklin Chang-Diaz and Philippe Perrin to install the MBS

STS-111/UF2 Canadian Elements
- The Shuttle’s robotic arm (the original Canadarm) was used to remove the MBS (while still on its pallet) from Endeavour’s cargo bay and install it on the Destiny lab. The Shuttle arm also installed and retrieved the MPLM.
- Canadarm2, from the Power Data Grapple Fixture on the US Destiny lab, was used to install the MBS on the Mobile Transporter.
- The Canadian-designed Space Vision System assisted in installing the MBS and the MPLM;
- CSA Astronauts Steve MacLean and Bob Thirsk acted as CAPCOMs for the Shuttle and the ISS respectively.
- The Robotic WorkStation (RWS), built by MD Robotics of Brampton, Ontario and EMS Technologies of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec was used to control and monitor Canadarm2.
