Julie Payette carried aboard Discovery a number of CDs for her personal use. These CDs serve as merriment and the music often makes it easier for the astronauts to fall asleep by shutting out the noises in the shuttle. Background music can also help the astronauts relax during work or after a busy day in orbit.
