Dafydd (Dave) Rhys Williams: Age 43. Canadian
Space Agency Astronaut. Shuttle Mission Specialist. Medical doctor specializing
in emergency medicine. He was one of the two Crew Medical Officers on his first
Shuttle flight.
Richard A. Searfoss: Age 41. NASA Astronaut.
Shuttle Crew Commander. Lieutenant-Colonel, U.S. Air Force, test pilot and
aeronautical engineer. 3rd Shuttle mission. In 1993, he was the pilot for
STS-58 life science research mission. In 1996, he was also pilot for STS-76,
the 3rd shuttle/Mir mission, bringing astronaut Shannon Lucid for her 6 month
stay on Mir. He has accumulated 557 hours in space.
Scott D. Altman: Age 38. NASA Astronaut. Shuttle
Pilot. Lieutenant-Commander, U.S. Navy, test pilot and aeronautical and
astronautical engineer. First Shuttle flight.
Kathryn P. (Kay) Hire: Age 38. NASA Astronaut.
Shuttle Mission Specialist. Commander, U.S. Naval Reserve, engineer in space
technology. In 1993, she became the first woman in the U.S. assigned to a
combat aircraft. This was her first shuttle flight.
Richard M. Linnehan: Age 40. NASA Astronaut. Shuttle Mission Specialist. Veterinarian. In 1996, he flew on STS-78 Life
Science and Microgravity Spacelab (LMS) mission, the longest shuttle mission at that time, with our CSA astronaut Robert Thirsk.
Jay Clark Buckey Jr.: Age 41. Shuttle Payload
Specialist. Professor of Medicine and electrical engineer. First shuttle flight.
James A. (Jim) Pawelczyk: Age 37. Shuttle Payload Specialist. Doctor in biology with a specialty in neurophysiology. First shuttle flight.
