The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is committed to inspiring Canadian youth and educators and get them excited about space, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
To celebrate Chris Hadfield's mission to the International Space Station, the CSA developed unique collaborations to bring space into Canadian classrooms across Canada.
Bring space science into the classroom with two 3D educational resources
Designed specifically for classrooms, the 3D education resources have been developed on an interactive platform that simulates the experience of flying on a Soyuz spacecraft and living and working on the International Space Station (ISS). Students will learn about science through the eyes of their virtual avatars, with the guidance of astronaut Chris Hadfield.
Let's Talk Science and the Canadian Space Agency: Bringing Space to Classrooms
To celebrate Chris Hadfield's mission to the ISS and to interest youth in relevant topics related to his mission, Let's Talk Science has launched a unique collaboration with the CSA entitled Project Sky Science.Project Sky Science was created to inspire and engage youth in STEM through a variety of specialized Let's Talk Science programs.
Discover Eduzone, an online tool designed for teachers, educators and students across Canada. Eduzone provides educational and multimedia resources which will help in learning more about the governor general's role and the history of this position. Eddy, Eduzone's mascot, will join CSA astronaut Chris Hadfield on his mission to the ISS.
NFB Space School: An Interactive Learning Experience in Collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency
On April 22, 2013, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) launched its NFB Space School, an innovative new way of teaching science to students in grades 6 through 9. Using cutting-edge presentation tools, compelling interactive learning modules and virtual classrooms, NFB Space School will revolutionize how students learn about astronomy, astrobiology, history and robotics, in addition to helping them discover leadership skills.
