General Information

The Advanced SAR Workshop is organized biannually by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to review progress on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology. Canada is very active in the field of SAR through its RADARSAT program and its participation in the European Space Agency (ESA) Earth Observation program.

Initiated in 1997, the Advanced SAR Workshop's success prompted the CSA to open the event to international participation in 1999 in order to create collaboration opportunities with its foreign partners. There are usually 150 participants at the workshop with close to 100 speakers. Participants include community leaders, developers, and end-users from both the private and public sectors.

This year, presentations during the plenary session will be given by the following keynote speakers:

  • Dr. Jakob van Zyl
Associate Director Project Formulation & Strategy
    Jet Propulsion Laboratory
  • Simon Jutz
    Head, Copernicus Space Office
ESA – Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes
  • Dr. Vern Singhroy
    Senior Research Scientist
    Canada Centre for Remote Sensing
  • Peter Allan
    Staff Scientist
    MDA

If you would like to be included in the Advanced SAR Workshop mailing list, please send an email to the following address: asc.asar2015.csa@canada.ca
