Second Canadian Workshop on the Long-Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities

General Information

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) will host a Canadian workshop on the Long Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities.

Government representatives in the Working Group on the Long Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities (WG LTSOSA) of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS) will provide an overview of current activities, answer questions on the preliminary guidelines proposed by expert groups of the WG-LTSOSA and, seek participants views on best practices to adopt to ensure the long term sustainability of outer space activities.

Objectives of the Workshop

This workshop will be an opportunity for participants to discuss the Proposed guidelines prepared by expert groups A-D of the Working Group on the Long-term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities, to learn more about Canada's positions, as well as provide input and make suggestions.

Who can Participate

Governmental representatives, as well as Canadian representatives of industry and academia involved in space related activities.
