This activity is directed at middle year students in grades 6 - 9. Since no specific telecommunications topics are covered in the Pan Canadian Protocol, this activity may be used to address the following grade 9 components
STSE -110, 111, 112, 113

Goal of Activity

The workhorse of any satellite telecommunications system is the hardware on the ground and in space, that makes near-instant communications possible. This resource involves students in an in-depth look at what constitutes a satellite communications system and challenges them to construct models of the different system components.
