The nighttime sky is not only spectacular, but also filled with hidden wonders. Wonders that you can discover, but only if you can actually see the stars. Unfortunately the sky is often obscured by light pollution, especially in urban regions.

Performing the following experiment will not only be a good introduction to astronomy, but it will help you determine the quality of the observing conditions in your neighbourhood and also suggest ways to improve them if necessary.
