The Interior of the Sun

Module 2: The Sun and Stars

Button controls:

• (1) Help button:
  • This button will open a window with help information
• (2) Toggle controls:
  • When you slide your mouse over these buttons, a line is drawn to the corresponding layer of the sun.

Using the applet:

This applet has been designed to help students visualize the different layers of the Sun. It is important to note that the visible surface of the Sun is the photosphere (3). Layers above it compose the atmosphere while layers below make up the interior.
