It is thought that Mars, our nearest planetary neighbour, will supply a number of answers to the questions we still have about the formation of the solar system, the Earth, and possibly the origins of life. Any conclusive evidence we may find of the presence of life elsewhere in the universe will have very great scientific and social consequences.
The Pavilion Lake Research Project: A Deep Dive towards the Moon and Mars
Nestled between the limestone cliffs of Marble Canyon, British Columbia, the picturesque, turquoise waters of Pavilion Lake are a stark contrast to the desolate, barren lunar landscape. Yet, each summer, teams of astrobiologists and Earth scientists set up camp at the remote lake in hopes of learning more about exploring the Moon and Mars, and delving further into the origins of life on Earth and elsewhere in our solar system.
